Save Custom User Control Properties from ToolParts

Jul 4, 2008 at 6:57 PM
I have a ToolPart added to a SmartPart.

I need this tool to modify another browsable property.

however the WebPartToEdit returned bu the ToolPart returns a SmartPart, not my user control, and I have no idea how to access (and save) my browsable properties.
SmartParts have a property - "Hashtable UserControlProperties" - which would o well, however it is non-public!

Any ideas, please?

Hey there,

I am familiar in creating Webparts and Toolparts and love the way SharePoint just saves the Properties away for you.
I also love creating UserControls and running them in SmartPart.

However, Now comes the time where I really need to start combining the two.
And My thoughts would be to extend the smartpart to allow users to set webpart properties in the ToolPart that can then be exposed to the UserControls.

Is there anyone that could show me a small example of how I can expose Webpart properties to the UserControls that run within.

Thanks So much.
