I had a similar problem, and I was able to fix the problem
It was a conflicting ajax version for .net 3.5, as we move the application from .net 2.0. In summary I had to change the scriptmanager to ToolkitScriptManager in the masterpage, and it fixed most of the issues

Hi Retep

I have a similar problem

I recently migrated a Moss 2007 solution to SP2010, which has a lot of custom user controls which were hosted on the page through smartpart. Once the site is migrated to Sp2010, some of the user controls only are working in the edit page mode rather than the view mode. I have applied the web page security validation as mentioned above, but no luck with the behaviour.

Any solutions here?

hello,

I would like to use these 2 dlls :

using Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk;

using Microsoft.Crm.Sdk;

In order to do this, I put these 2dlls in the gac but I am still not able to use them. Could you please explain me how to do this?

(the aim is to be able to query microsoft CRM through webservices)

Hello, sorry for the reawakening of this post.

I have this same situation, and since this aplication is for portuguese people, those characters are truly important.

I have tried the function posted above, and it works. However, when the web part that uses the user control goes in edit mode again, the special characters are, once again, badly encoded.

Is there a different solution for this?

Created Issue: Errors placing SmartPart on page [17031]

We tested the SmartPart a few weeks ago, and it seemed to work really well. We're now trying to use it to host a web user control that uses AJAX, but can no longer place either version of the SmartPart on a SharePoint page. When we try to select the SmartPart, we get "Unable to add selected web part(s). SmartPart: Exception occurred. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80020009 (DISP_E_EXCEPTION))". Trying to use the SmartPart with AJAX gives this error: "Unable to add selected web part(s). SmartPart with AJAX: The web part you attempted to add no longer exists in the Closed Web Parts gallery. Refresh your browser to update the Web Part Page and the Gallery".

Has anyone else seem this? Can anyone point us toward a solution?

1. I created ascx
2. I added enum property
3. In Visual Studio, ascx properties pane displays a dropdown
4. I added to sharepoint via smart part
5. In Smart part property window, it is just a textbox (not dropdown)

what am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi Friends

I am working with Sharepoint 2007 and VS 2008. I created a web part with user control which refrences some external files (js,css and images). I deployed both the web part and the external files (files in 12 hive folder structure). When i try to use to web part I get the following error.

Cannot make a cache safe URL for "/DatePicker/JS/JsDatePick.min.1.3.js", file not found. Please verify that the file exists under the layouts directory.

Though the js file exists in layout folder.

Please help.

Hi Friends

My development environemnt is VS 2008 3.5 Sharepoint 2007. I am working with visual web parts using WSP Builder. I am wrapping my user controls in Web parts. One of my user control has external js, images and css files. Though I have deployed all those files in 12 hive folder (Layouts\1033\<My Site Name>\Css like this.

Now how should i reference all these files in my acsx controls. Even if i refer these files like src="_layouts\1033\<My Site Name>\JS".I still get js object not found errors. Its not able to find the files.

Please help.

I am upgrading a site from Sharepoint 2003 to MOSS 2007. It uses smartpart controls of version 1.1. What would be changes to the code to use Return of SmartPart instead of the old version. In old verion, the class inherit from SmartPart.IUserControl. In the new version I dont see that class. Can I use SmartPart.IAdvancedUserControl instead. I dont see a sample code using this. What are the Members of the IAdvancedIserControl.

Remember the assembly Product key is different and it has different signature than the original. So you will need to update your SharePoint root config for allowing it !
